Silverbeet & Kale Vegetable Stir Fry

Silvertbeet + Kale Vege 003

My love for Kale knows no bound. Lovers of my blog know I love kale, as I am either eating it in soups or stir fries or drinking it in my smoothies.

I decided to combine Kale with Silverbeet (Swiss chard), my new found love among vegetables. I love Silverbeet (Swiss chard) for its crunchiness and strength when cooked.

“Silverbeet, also known as Swiss chard, is part of the beet family, and its large bunches of bright-green, thick leaves are packed full of vitamins, fibre and goodness. In abundance now, silverbeet has a deep earthy flavour and a wonderful bitter sweetness.”

“Swiss chard offers dietary fiber, which helps to regulate blood sugar levels during the digestive process. It also contains a wealth of vitamins C, E, and K, beta-carotene, manganese, and antioxidants.”

Here is a step by step process of how i made my delicious Silverbeet & Kale Vegetable Mix.

First i added some olive oil into the cooking pot, which i allowed to heat for about 3 minutes and then added garlic;

Silvertbeet + Kale Vege 004

Then i added 2 diced onions and cooked for 2 – 3 minutes,

Silvertbeet + Kale Vege 005

Then i added my herbs, spices and salt.

Silvertbeet + Kale Vege 006

Next, i added my already boiled and lamb and cooked for 5 minutes, so the sauce can saturate the meat.

Silvertbeet + Kale Vege 007

Next i added the already washed and cut vegetables, covered the pot to simmer aand cook for 5 minutes.

Volla , your silverbeet & kale Vegetable mix is ready;

Spice up your water to drink more.

Water is life, it is essential for our bodies to function properly and it is also a key to losing weight.

I made this for the 5th day of my detox program. This is actually bitter since it is for detoxing my body.

You can drink more water by using natural flavours, like fruits, vegetables and herbs. Spice up your water, treat yourself and the family to a nice time

You can use any other fruits and vegetables you like, the goal is to get you to drink more water than you usually do.

Ingredients.
Lemon
Lime
Orange
Mint
Cucumber
Ice Cubes

My Fruit Jar #HealthySnack

Choosing to live healthy involves a lot of creativity, in order to keep yourself inspired and keep your morale high.

I made this fruit jar snack ,as part of my food for the day and took it along to the office, so instead of being tempted to go for a chocolate bar , sausage or meat pie you can always keep this handy in your office or home fridge.

You can always fill as many jars as possible with different fruits you like and they don’t take a lot of time to make.

This also motivates others around you to embrace the healthy lifestyle.
