Super Power Smoothie

Super Power smoothie is the smoothie you need to re-energize your body because of the powerful seeds used  in making it.

I love the taste and strength of the smoothie.

Ingredients.

1 Carrot

1 Green Apple (cored)

1 1/2 cups of Spinach

1/2 Lime (juice)

1 Tablespoon Chia seeds

1 Tablespoon Sunflower seeds

1 Tablespoon Flax seeds.

How to make the SuperPower Smoothie.

Make sure all your fruits and vegetables are thoroughly washed in water with drops of white Vinegar to ensure it is bacteria and harmful chemicals free

Add all the ingredients into the cup of your extractor/blender/juicer, blend for 60 seconds or until smooth.

It is best enjoyed cold, so leave in the fridge for 30 minutes or use a few cubes of ice.

Kale , Spinach + Gizzards #Yum

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know by now that I love vegetables.

Guess what, this is pretty easy to make so relax and follow my step by step process of making a delicious Kale , Spinach + Gizzards vegetable.

Ingredients.

Kale (frozen) 

Spinach (frozen) 

Onions

Garlic

Ginger

Iru (processed locust beans)

Gizzards

Olive Oil

Remove the vegetables from the packets and pour into a plate so they can defrost.

Peel the onions, ginger and garlic.

Wash the onions, ginger and garlic.

Dice the onions and pour into a saucer or small bowl.

Grate the ginger and pour into a saucer or small bowl.

Place a cooking pot on the cooker and ignite the cooker.

Pour 1/2 cup of olive oil into the heated pot.

Add the diced onions

Add the grated ginger.

Add the diced garlic.

Allow all to cook for 5 minutes.

Add all spices, herbs, salt and locust beans (optional) to taste.

Add the gizzards.

Allow to cook for 5 -10 minutes till the sauce is no longer watery.

Squeeze excess water from the kale vegetable, add to the sauce and stir properly.

Squeeze excess water from the spinach vegetable, add to the spinach and stir properly.

Cover the port and allow to steam for 5 minutes, then you vegetable is ready to eat.

Breakfast shouldn’t be boring

 

I had oats and boiled eggs for breakfast but my oats was loaded with some healthy stuff giving it a kind of princely swag.

Let me show you how I made it.

First I added 3 cups of water to a cooking pot and placed on the cook top to boil.

Then I added two tablespoons of my premixed seeds comprising of chia, flax, sunflower seeds and cacao nibs.

I allowed this to boil for 5 minutes and I added 1 cup of oats which is enough for two.

 I stirred the oats and the existing seeds properly, then covered and left to cook for another 5 minutes.

I added 3 spoons of honey and stirred to mix properly.

I added 1/2 cup of blueberries and voila, breakfast was ready.

It was quite yummy.

 

Spinach & Broccoli Vege Soup

If you are already thinking of a healthy vegetable mix for Christmas, here is a very good idea for you.  I fell in love with this when i finished cooking it and couldn’t resist the urge to eat it with rice, it came out so nice and yummy.

Spinach and Broccoli are great vegetables with strong antioxidants content, antioxidants are known to be useful in the prevention of cancer and maintaining a healthy system.

Ingredients.

Spinach – 3 Packets

Broccoli – 3 Bunches

Prawns- 2 Cups

Giblets (Gizzrads) – 2 Cups

Capsicum – 1

Tomato- 1

Onion – 2

Bell Pepper – 1 or 2

Olive oil – 1 scoop of cooking spoon

Spices, Salt & Herbs to taste

Shrimp Powder – 3 Tablespoons

Moroccan Spice – 2 Tablespoons

Mixed Herbs – 1 Tablespoon

A dash of ground Cinnamon.

Garlic- 3 pieces

Chicken Drumsticks – 5 or more.

Water

How To Make Your Perfect Spinach & Broccoli Vegetable Soup.

Please make sure you was h all your vegetables in water at least thrice in water with a splash of white vinegar to prevent bacterial and harmful chemicals getting into your soup.

Add water to to your cooking pot or Wok and allow to boil for 3 – 5 minutes.

Add the peeled Garlic to the boiling water in the cooking pot or wok.

Add the uncooked raw prawns, allow to cook for about 5 minutes.

Add the already cooked Giblets (I cooked them earlier to make my cooking easier).

Add the your Olive oil , spices, salt and herbs to taste and allow to cook for 3 – 5 minutes.

Add the diced onions, cover the pot and allow to cook for up to 5 minutes.

Add your washed and diced fresh Capsicum, Tomato and Pepper mix.

Add your washed Broccoli vegetable, stir and allow to steam for a 3 minutes.

Add your frozen of fresh Spinach vegetable, to steam for a 3 minutes.

Add the already cooked chicken . i did this last so chicken won’t dissolve into the vegetable soup due to over cooking. You can also use a bit of the chicken stock.

Allow to steam again for a few more minutes and vola !!! , your delicious and ‘superfood’ vegetable is ready to eat with rice, pasta , quinoa or alone.

Green Deal Smoothie

 

This smoothie combines vegetables, herbs, seeds and fruits rich in antioxidants which may be be helpful in cancer prevention.

It is advisable to take this first thing in the morning or in the night for effectiveness of the ingredients.

Ingredients

Coriander ( Cilantro or Chine Parsley) – 1 bunch (a lot of dietary fiber, which is excellent for lowering bad cholesterol and increasing good cholesterol).

Spinach- 1 handful

Green Basil – 1 bunch

Green Apple – 1

Sunflower Seeds- 1 tablespoon

Chia Seeds-  1 tablespoon

Lemon (juice squeezed) – 1

Wheatgrass Powder – 1 teaspoon

Water – 2 cups

Add all the ingredients into the cup of your extractor/blender/juicer,  blend for 60 seconds or until smooth.

BBQ Chicken & Coleslaw #DinnerIdeas

 

 

What to eat for dinner is always a big concern for those concerned with eating healthy or living a healthy lifestyle.

Meals for dinners should be light so our bodies are not over worked while we sleep since we won’t be burning the food eaten due to inactivity.

This meal for barbecued chicken and coleslaw with beetroot is a perfect idea for dinner and it is pretty easy and simple to make.

Ingredients.

Premixed, washed and ready to eat coleslaw with beetroot

Chicken drumsticks.

Salad dressing.

Ginger (grated)

Garlic (grated).

How to make your dinner.

Wash your chicken in water at least twice with lemon or lime.

Grate your Ginger and Garlic.

Add the grated Ginger and Garlic to the washed chicken

Add your favourite herbs, spices, salt and pepper to taste. 

Pour the premixed coleslaw in a salad bowl, add your preferred salad dressing and cover till when ready to eat.

Grill your chicken with low flame in order to get the perfect chicken with an awesome taste for about 20 -30 minutes.

CocoBerries Smoothie

This is to a weekend of awesomeness and one of the best smoothies for summer in in Australia.

I love the color, taste of the smoothie and it actually came out so nice.

Ingredients.

2 Cups Blueberries

4- 6 Strawberries

2 Red Apples

1 Tablespoon Chia Seeds

1 Tablespoon Flax Seeds

Almond-Coconut Milk

How to make your CocoBerries smoothie.

Make sure all your fruits  are thoroughly washed in water with drops of white Vinegar to ensure it is bacteria and harmful chemical free.

Dice your Strawberries.

Cut your Apple into 4 to make it easier to blend.

Add all the ingredients into the cup of your extractor/blender/juicer, add the Almond/Coconut milk and blend for 60 seconds or until smooth.

Serve and enjoy.

Awesome, yummy, soothing those are the words that describes this smoothie.

Ingredients.

1 Cup of Spinach 

1 Cup of Blueberries

1/2 Cucumber

1 Lemon

1 Apple

1 Tablespoon Flax Seeds

1 Tablespoon Hemp Seeds

Water.

How to make your SpinBerCumb smoothie.

Make sure all your fruits and vegetables are thoroughly washed i water with drops of vinegar to ensure it is bacteria free.

Cut the Cucumber into smaller bits.

Cut your Apple into 4 to make it easier to blend.

Cut the Lemon and squeeze the juice into a cup.

Add all the ingredients into the cup of your extractor/blender/juicer, add water and blend for 45 seconds or until smooth.

Serve and enjoy.

Followers of my blog know by now that my love for Kale knows no bound. Apart from the nutritional benefits, i love the fact that it is still crunchy in your mouth despite cooking it for a while.

Recipe;

Kale (fresh or frozen), Prawns, Salmon, Garlic

Ginger, Onion, Mixed Herbs & spices.

How to cook it?

1.Pour a little quantity of extra virgin olive oil into the pot (mine was a tad much tho).

2. Allow to heat for 2 minutes

3. Add the cut Garlic first , followed by ginger.

4. Add the cut onion and salt to taste.

5. Stir the three ingredients and allow to cook for 2 minutes.

6. Add the washed and peeled prawns.

7.Add your salmon.

8.  Stir all and allow to cook for 5 minutes.

9. Add your kale

10. Allow to steam for 5 minutes and it is ready to be served.

Eat with a small portion of any carbohydrate you like Rice, Semo, Eba, Pounded Yam if you want.
